Stone Mountain Trail

Stone Mountain Trail is a moderately difficult 14.3-mile trail featuring small cascades, beautiful overlooks, and rock features. The trail climbs nearly 1,500 feet to the ridgetop of Stone Mountain. On the northeast end of the trail near Appalachia, VA the first mile is a series of rock stairs constructed by the Youth Conservation Corps in the 1970s. Part of the trail goes through the Stone Mountain Wilderness, where group size is limited to 10 people and bikes are prohibited.
