Flag Rock Recreation Area

Flag Rock Recreation Area is located three miles above downtown Norton on the lower slopes of High Knob. The thousand-acre park includes 25 developed acres and a variety of outdoor adventures. Highlights include a 10+ mile multi-use trail system open to mountain biking and foot traffic, the city’s 9.8-acre Upper Reservoir, which is a state-stocked trout water, bouldering and rock climbing routes, an 18-site campground, picnic shelters, and scenic overlooks, including the Flag Rock Overlook. The recreation area is also a sanctuary for the mythical Woodbooger, a Bigfoot-like creature, and the real-life green salamander.
