High Knob Recreation Area

The High Knob Recreation Area was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the late 1930s. This remote and private location offers cooler summer temperatures due to its higher mountain elevation. The area offers a campground and day use and picnic area along a scenic mountain lake. Many of the original CCC structures are still in use here today. Day use fee: $5. Please note this site is open seasonally. Please contact the U.S. Forest Service’s Clinch Ranger District for details at the phone number and website below.
